Auto repair has always required strength, but today that strength must be mental above physical. Luscious Garage has the technicial resources, intellect, and enthusiasm to provide the best auto service anywhere.
Carolyn Coquillette
Owner and Lead Technician
Carolyn opened LG in the summer of 2007, the first hybrid-dedicated shop anywhere, to feed her interest in the technology and translate its benefits to the auto repair industry. A recovering academic, she holds a BS in Physics and English from the University of Michigan, a Master ASE certification with L1 Advanced Engine Performance, and a pile of miscellaneous credentials.
There is currently no independent hybrid certification, but Carolyn has participated with ASE in designing one. She instructs on hybrid technology with an emphasis on plug-in hybrid (PHEV) applications. A constant study of trends in current and future technology, Carolyn’s own automotive training is ongoing.
When not attending to the shop, Carolyn enjoys her canoe, her record player, and her subscription to the New Yorker. She is active in the San Francisco Electric Vehicle Association, the International Automobile Technicians’ Network (iATN), and CalCars. For her opinions and observations, check out LG’s blog. John Peters
Master Technician
John is a mechanic (or technician if you prefer) with too much experience to admit. Hybrids? “Yes.” Plug-in conversions? “Actually, yes.” Carburetors? “BTDT.” Another poster child for the ASE certification program, John earned his L1 the first year it was offered (1994). Earlier pursuit of wallpaper included the School of Music at the University of Illinois.
John has been ambling around this old town for one score years, enjoying the culture, the food, and especially the parks. Sunday afternoons you may find him rolling through GG Park on some old Schwinn, or tending the garden in his backyard (mostly concrete, but still), or maybe just burning his eyes out six inches from the computer screen trying to win some argument with another mechanic. Greg Jones
Technician
Greg, also ASE certified, joined the Luscious team in 2010 after seven years spinning chrome in the South Bay. His passion for all things automotive spans far beyond “work”; in his leisure time he has restored, re-built or reconfigured six cars (with the seventh in progress).
Greg’s interests include gourmet vegetarian cooking and cycling (both motor and pedal). He has performed at Carnegie Hall (trombone). His cat’s name is Max. Reach him at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
